Cosmic Classifieds End of Life Notice

Consider this post notice that Cosmic Classifieds will close on November 20, 2010. This service has officially reached its end of life. Any classifieds on that website at the time if its closing will be lost. Please download your data if you are using Cosmic Classifieds prior to the 20th as the site will become unavailable at some point during that day. We have no plans at this time to replace this service with something else.

We are now back online and at top speed on a brand new server!

Important Maintenance Notice for ALL of the Cosmic Networks

We will be transferring our website to a new server this weekend. This move will provide greater speed and improved uptime and redundancy for our network. The new hosting is graciously provided by HostGator, the premier shared hosting provider on the web.

The administration areas of Cosmic Blogs will be disabled at 8pm on Friday night, and an image of the site will be taken at that time. We will set up the new server, deploy all necessary fixes, and we expect to launch the new server by Monday. We will keep you up to date on this on this page. All pages will remain online as read only.

Update, Fri Sep 24 10:10pm: The last database image is being taken now. Any changes after this point will go unsaved.

Update, Sat Sep 25, 4:30pm: We will be switching over the nameservers for the Cosmic Networks to the new site at 5:00pm today. Over the next 48 hours, you will begin to see the new server loading pages. Stay tuned for more information once we switch nameservers.

Update, Sat Sep 25, 5:20pm: The nameservers are now completely switched, and these changes will propagate throughout the rest of today. During this time, our website will be served randomly from the old server and the new server.

Update, Sat Sep 25, 6:20pm: Any users currently on the new server are not going to be able to resolve Cosmic Blogs’ subdomains. This issue is currently being investigated by our server administrators and we hope to have more information soon.

Update, Sat Sep 25, 10:15pm: The Cosmic Blogs issue has been solved. When the DNS propagates in your area, you will be able to see the new server and the blogs in all it’s glory. We also installed a new version of our portfolios software. The newer, more powerful, faster server will hopefully serve us well for long into the future. Thanks for your patience throughout these upgrades, and enjoy the new server!
